Late Summer & Parents' Visit

 After Tibor & his family's visit, we hiked up to Louie Lake to pick huckleberries and got a 1 liter.

 We also paddled down the Payette river from Cascade to Cabarton Road with our friends Colin and Delta. It ended up being a 4 hour adventure!

We went on a new hike close to Riggins to a beautiful waterfall, although the trail itself was overgrown with prickly weeds.

 And we finally hiked to the Needles.  This is a view from the hike.

And frisbee golf is always a summer favorite for us!

 We rented our condo out for our last weekend, packed up our things and went camping near Warren at Chinook campground (the start of the Loon lake bike trail that Dave loves.)

We took our ambulance, bikes, camping gear and hammock.

And the sling shot that Delta gave me.

We had a nice long ride to the Summit on the way to Warren, as well as to and from the Burgdorf Hot Springs where Sean played live music with the band.  Emily, Delta and Colin stayed there in the cabins.

 A wonderful way to wrap up a fantastic three weeks home, with hot springs, friends and live music.

 After three weeks at work, we were anxious to get home to some more sun.  This was our anniversary hike up to the Rice Peak Fire Lookout.  It was a new hike for us and a scenic overlook.

 McCall

 We went on a lot of wonderful bike rides near town.  This one was by the drainage near Lake Fork.  We ran into a herd of elk in the tall grass here.

Payette Lake

 Always a sight for sore eyes.

 My parents came to visit, and drove all the way from Reno!  Thank you Szulok!  One of our first trips was to Crystal Peak and Burgdorf Hot Springs.

 We had nice lunches at Pueblo Lindo and the Chinese Lakefront restaurant.  Went to the Osprey Point lookout in Ponderosa State Park and on a hike near the marsh.  We went to see the Payette river in town and played frisbee golf too.

 We took a day trip to Riggins to enjoy the heat and the beaches on the Salmon River. Loved the fine white sand.  It was still in the 80s in September!

 We loved lunch at the River Rock Cafe and all the pretty sunflowers.

 It truly was a scenic drive.

 We took another new and wonderful hike up off Warren Wagon Road.  And below is our Impatiens flowers blossoming perfectly.

We rented our condo out for our last weekend again, packed up and this time did a loop hike in a Wilderness area south of us.  Fall came on quickly.  It was a seemingly overnight transformation and we got two days of glorious colors in McCall before leaving.  Thank you for visiting us, Szulok!  Love you all!

Besides Saguaro National Park and Organ Pipe National Monument, the Desert Museum was our favorite place.  So many amazing animals and plants!

Cliff dwellings were all over the park.  Look in the center of the photo to spot it.

The most famous ruin in the park was at the bottom of the canyon and was a lovely hike to get to.

Incredible place to have morning coffee. Century plants (Agave Americana) only flower once in their lifetime, and often take 10-20 years to get to the blossoming stage.

We had  a fantastic winter and saw many incredible sights!  We were reminded of that when we looked at our pictures on our camera.  With our phones being as good as they are, we only take the camera out for wildlife and sunsets.  Thought we'd share our favorites.  Love you all!  Ildiko & David
