My parents flew to Boise through Portland on July 31st to visit us in Idaho, and we were so excited to host them, show them our new townhome and all of our favorite places.
Arrival toast at the Boise Airbnb where we spent the night. This was their first big trip since Covid and we didn't want to make it too rushed.
The next morning after coffee, we walked along the Boise Greenbelt.
The Boise River is always beautiful. We also met Julie for lunch at Caffe Luciano's.
On our drive up to McCall, we stopped to see Kelly's Whitewater Park in Cascade on the river.

We went back to an old favorite, the Bistro 45 (where we had celebrated Dave's Birthday years ago).
The following day, Mom and I visited Tamarack Resort to see the changes since they last saw it, while Dave and Dad picked huckleberries on our West Mountain property.
Mom loved the buildings and beautiful atmosphere and views.
We even walked to the Osprey Meadows Lodge to see where I used to work and where we all had an amazing dinner on one of their visits with Grandma. This is the golf course and lake view from there. Mom and I shared a Crusty's Pizza in the village and brought some to the guys.
Meanwhile, Dave and Dad had a blast and picked quite a bit of huckleberries!

The next day we went on a boat cruise around Payette Lake, one of their favorites.
There are indoor seating areas near the bar and lots of outside seating and view locations too.
After the cruise, we went to the food truck court nearby to try some Idaho made gelato.
The following day we explored Charlie's Gardens which was filled with blossoms.
Such a beautiful place for a stroll!

It was a beautiful and joy filled visit and we were so excited to host them!!!
Dave and I continued our summer hiking quest with this beautiful trail to Lake Serene.
We had taken Tibor, Dora and the kids here on their last visit. It's off of Brundage road.
This trail always has lots of Indian Paintbrush in the summer.

Dave and I went for one last huckleberry picking mission on our West Mountain Property before selling.

Dave made this amazing Indian curry that tastes better than any butter chicken ever.
We got invited to the McCall beer festival by Emily who had sponsor passes to the event.

Dave and I also paddle boarded on the meanders north of the lake.
We kept having the whole place to ourselves during dinner time, so we brought our own sandwiches.
We had a relaxing hang with our friends at Firemen's point on the lake.
On August 23rd, Rob, Amy and Zach came to visit from Oregon.
It was a fun get together that we kicked off with a soak at Burgdorf Hot Springs.
We had lunch at the Secesh Stage Stop on our way to our hike on the Loon Lake Loop.

We also went to Gold Fork Hot Springs and love this sandy bottom pool there.
We tried axe throwing at Tamarack Resort and had pizza and beers as we played.
The guys were naturals.
It was a fun activity.

Dave and my next hike was up to Duck lake off of Lick Creek Road.

Roger came to visit in September and I got to see him when I got home from work September 12. We took this lovely walk to the Sheep Bridge from our home on the paved walking path.
We also visited Tamarack Resort to show him the changes since his last visit.
The new art mural on the side of the McPaws thrift store was just finished so we went to see it.
A lovely walk to Brown Park on Payette Lake in McCall.
We took him to see our new property in the Moon View subdivision and celebrated signing the contract at the Shore Lodge cafe outside on the lake.
We also went to Riggins and drove along the Salmon River to the bridge access point to the Gospel Hump Wilderness. We picnicked along the way, making vegan chili dogs.
There were lots of wildflowers and blackberries along the way.
We got to see a bald eagle up close on our drive.

Timing was perfect to see the salmon spawning on the meanders north of Payette Lake.
We were able to watch them right from the sandy beach.

Our hike together was to Summit Lake off of Lick Creek Road. We sat and admired the view from the cliffs.

We also went to the new Payette Land Trust public area that is near our new lot for a walk.
After a soak at Burgdorf Hot Springs we went to the Loon Lake campground to picnic and sit by the river. It was so great to have Roger visit and we had a wonderful time showing him our favorite places.
On September 22nd, we hiked this gorgeous new to us trail called the Upper Payette Lake Loop. The views below are of Upper Payette Lake.
The trail is really close to McCall and yet seems totally undiscovered and overgrown in some spots.
The views as you ascend of the Secesh Mountains are absolutely stunning.
We loved being the only people besides one hunter on the trail. And below is the view from Upper Payette Lake at sunset.
We had a wonderful summer with lots of hiking and paddle boarding, biking and garden visits. We were very fortunate to have family visit and share the beauty of the area. Love you!
