Our Airbnb deck overlooking Cabo San Lucas; great morning coffee spot!
We found some secluded Locals' beaches in Cabo.
Cabo marina and main restaurant area. Had the best Italian at Salvatore's.
After a few days of acclimating, we took the bus north to Los Barriles.
It's a small American expat town on the Sea of Cortez side and we went on lots of walks. It's near the Cabo Pulmo reserve, so there are lots of incredible fish and birds in the area. We were fortunate to be there during the manta ray mating season, where for their displays, the mantas jump several feet out of the water and spin in the air and there were hundreds of them!
Found a great infinity pool at a hotel nearby. Our Airbnb was on the beach so we spent a lot of time enjoying the view and going for long walks.
After another rotation at work, we came back to Mexico, but this time to the Cancun side. We stayed on Isla Mujeres which was a short ferry ride.
We stayed in the locals area in the center of town, and were near the best food places. Including this taco stand which was our favorite. It also kept us away from the touristy areas.
This was one of our favorite spots in 2014 because they served ice cold beer in these frosty home made mugs.

We found this haven, Capitan Dulche's on the south eastern side. We rented a palapa with a bed and stared at the pool and ocean all day in between trips into the water.

We loved the azure blue color of the water near the island.

Had some beer with key limes after a sunny walk. You can see the buildings of Cancun in the distance on the right hand side of the photo.

A guy let us hold his nurse shark near the pier for a donation. Pretty cool to touch this beast.
After a week in Paradise, we met Julie & Brian at the airport and headed west with them to Isla Holbox in the Gulf of Mexico.

I loved all the art on the sides of the buildings on the island.
The water was ankle deep for a quarter of a mile out.
Lots of swings and hammocks put up right in the ocean since the waters were so calm.
We went on a lot of walks in the ocean, just walking around the island to see the sights.

What a great time with friends, walking, getting sun, fishing, drinking margaritas and eating great fresh seafood. It was hard to choose which island was the prettier one, but one thing is for certain, which was we were happy we got to see both. It was hard to leave for sure, but getting to see Tonya & Turck, DJ & Karen and Mike & Sarah in Atlanta was a huge treat in the springtime with all the blossoming trees. After a rotation at work, we started this time off by driving our car up from Phoenix, stopping in Reno along the way to visit my family, and taking some trips to the Sierras in California with them. We're finally back in McCall at the moment...more pictures to follow. Love you!
