Tibor & Hanna's Visit & Falltime

Tibor & Hanna visited from New Zealand in late October. Their arrival and our first snowfall coincided.

Tibor had been looking for a nice long hike, so we chose the Boulder & Louie Lake loop which is 6.8 miles long with 1,600 feet of elevation gain. This photo is on the shore of Boulder Lake.
They don't often get to see snow in New Zealand, so it was heartening for me to watch Hanna take so many pictures of the snowscapes.  As you can see, trail-finding wasn't always easy.

We took them to see Tamarack Resort's progress and the beautiful aspen and tamarack trees there.
Tamarack tree near the Osprey Lodge where I used to work in Morels.
We also visited the Hai Yan Chinese restaurant in Donnelly, because we had all eaten there for his 40th Bday the day after our wedding when it was still located lake front in McCall.
A soak at Gold Fork Hot Springs was well earned after the cold hike the day prior.
Shopping and sightseeing downtown, I photographed them next to the Payette Land Trust's Art Heart, which is an awareness and fundraising tool. The land trust buys land to open to public use.

We enjoyed a meal and desserts at My Father's Place.
We went ice skating at the downtown rink.
We had a lot of fun skating and also watching some more professional skaters.
To prepare for Halloween, we all carved pumpkins. It was Hanna's first time but she took to it with ease.
The pumpkins looking incredible on our back patio.
We visited Burgdorf Hot Springs for another soak. There was a layer of fresh snow on the road and trees, so it looked especially scenic.
A photo stop on the drive.
Another hike we took was the Payette Lake (west side) trail from the aspens parking lot up to the Ridgeline Trail and Osprey Point Lookout in Ponderosa State Park.
Amazing sunny day and great photo weather!
Tibor & Hanna's favorite is Pueblo Lindo restaurant on the north side of town. We took them there to celebrate their last night with us before flying back to Reno.
It was absolutely wonderful to have Tibor & Hanna visit, and we had a blast together exploring the best of McCall in late fall. Cheers to family!
In November, we house-sat for Julie & Adam in Boise while they were in Europe to celebrate her birthday and visit friends in Germany. The kitties warmed up to us rather quickly.
Julie left us a wine tasting certificate to a local winery in Meridian on the riverfront.
We toured the Boise Art Museum because they had a visiting Japanese art display. It's me in the photo to show our favorite exhibit's size.
I cooked a vegan meat loaf, mashed potatoes with mushroom gravy and green beans and hosted our friends Colin & Delta for a pre-Thanksgiving meal. On Thanksgiving, we joined our friend Brian Allen and his friends for appetizers at his rental across from the lake.
Dave decorated our patio for the winter holidays with boughs from a tree from our West Mountain property that we sold in the fall to the next door neighbors. And we put up some Christmas decor out front in our portico.
Fall is always extremely colorful and beautiful in McCall and we were excited to share the splendor with family. Thank you for visiting! Love you guys!!!
