We arrived in Belize City in late November and stayed at the Golden Bay Belize Hotel. We enjoyed a delicious dinner and breakfast there before heading to the ferry terminal.

We had beers and lunch out before walking to see some of the sights on the island.
The Split was the most touristy area on Caye Caulker and the place to catch a small boat to the quiet side of the island.

Caye Caulker is very small and easy to to walk around, quiet and laid back.

We took an amazing day long snorkeling trip to Hol Chan Marine Reserve. We swam with a manatee and nurse sharks. The Caribbean turquoise water was absolutely stunning everywhere we snorkeled.

Dave and I took the local ferry to explore the north section of the island for the day.
It was absolutely quiet and very natural.

We rented paddle boards and paddled the West side of the island.
It was a blast, especially paddling into the tarpon fish nursery.

Our first stop was the Eco Iguana Corner Foundation, a small iguana sanctuary and reserve.
We loved seeing so many of these colorful beasts in the mangrove trees and walking around.
It's run by a non-profit foundation to protect the native wildlife.

We had an amazing week in Belize and can't wait to return. This visit was short, so we opted to relax on the small islands in the Caribbean Sea, but we can't wait to return to see some of the historic ruins on the mainland. Belize was incredibly easy as the main language is English and the food is incredible, the locals are kind and absolutely beautiful. What a paradise!
